Jump Start

Since we're starting History from the beginning, to correlate, we're starting Science with fossils and learning about dinosaurs. This Friday.. as a cool jump start into our studies.. we're going to see the "Discover the Dinosaurs" exhibit. Both John and I are such nerds that we're super excited about it.

This sounds like a great start. We are doing informally The Story of the World. I am disappointed that it starts with nomads and serves Biblical stories as part of what really happened, but otherwise the content is great. Anna covered dinosaurs in great details too many times to count, including once in her K class, so now she is pretty excited to learn more about ancient civilizations.

Apparently the blogger ate my comment. We did dinosaurs and "first people" last year, because I wanted to do an informal Story of the World history, but was annoyed about it starting directly with Sumerians. Now we are going through SOTW and read along on the same topics.
